Accessibility statement

Our commitments

• We target WCAG 2.1 AA, including colour contrast, focus visibility and non-colour-dependent meaning.
• Every page is usable with a keyboard alone, and a skip-to-content link is the first focusable element.
• A text-size control in the header increases body text without breaking layout.
• Headings follow a logical order with a single H1 per page so screen reader users can navigate by structure.
• Images that carry meaning have descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
• Content is written in plain English, avoiding clinical jargon where a simpler word exists.
• A quick-exit control is available in the header for anyone who needs to leave the site immediately.
• Motion is limited and respects the operating system's reduced-motion preference.

Some information is only available on external websites we link to, such as NHS service finders. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of those sites, and we describe links clearly so you know where they lead.
